He's Back
Fisk learns Matt is once again masquerading as Daredevil after Hector’s niece identifies who saved her. Muse has a new target, and it’s Matt’s girlfriend, Heather. And the gangs target Fisk while he takes credit for Daredevil’s work.

Fisk learns the truth
While Fisk is meeting with Buck and Daniel about the city, it’s revealed that Hector Ayala’s niece was attacked by Muse and she identified Daredevil as her savior. Fisk says “he’s back,” but it’s unclear if he’s happy he’s back because he has a nemesis or if he’s angry he’s back because of what Daredevil is capable of doing to him. Still, there’s a faint smile on his face as he says it. It gives some gravitas to his anti-vigilante task force.

Matt begins investigating Muse and reveals to Cherry he’s once again Daredevil. Cherry refuses to help because he doesn’t approve of Matt’s descent back into vigilantism. Still, Matt figures out that Muse is hunting Heather and heads to her office to save her.
Muse attacks Heather
While this is going on, Heather is seeing a patient, it’s the young man who approached her in the second episode asking her to sign a book. Throughout his therapy session, it becomes clear that he is Muse, the man who has been killing young women and using their blood for his artwork. He discusses his motivations and professes his infatuation with her. It’s not love, but it’s certainly creepy.

Heather tries to fight her way free but Muse is able to start drawing her blood. During this scuffle, Daredevil breaks in and fights Muse. It’s clear from both the first fight and this one that while Muse has some martial arts skills, he’s no match for Daredevil. However, Heather makes her presence known when she picks up the gun Muse brought and shoots him before passing out. Matt performs live saving measures on her before fleeing before police arrive.
Police Take Credit
When police arrive, their job has been done. The officers tell Fisk that Daredevil must’ve done it, but Fisk tells the officers they did a great job. He holds a press conference where he highlights his anti-vigilism task force and takes credit for Daredevil’s work. The police officers seem to be more than happy to be complicit in his coverup, as it makes them look good and helps them gain favor in the city.

Meanwhile, Vanessa has been meeting with Luca, one of the local gang leaders. She talks about her work as the head of the crime family and hints at something more sinister. She reveals to Luca when Fisk will be dining alone. He approaches, ready to shoot Fisk in the back of the head. But Buck is hiding and shoots Luca dead. Fisk has Buck tell Vanessa he’ll be bringing some dinner home to end the episode.
Rating
While it’s a bit disappointing to see Muse go out so quickly, the series is doing a great job of bringing in villains. Who will we see in the final two episodes as it builds to the inevitable showdown between Daredevil and Kingpin? Given there was a lot of talk about Bullseye during production and he only showed up in the first ten minutes of the first episode, it feels like the end of the season is the perfect time to bring him back. Maybe we’ll get more Karen and Punisher too?
The meat of the story is how it builds the world around them. This story fleshes out Vanessa. I’m curious to see if she wanted Fisk killed or if she was working with him to take out Luka. Her disappointment in Fisk is very clear, but she may only be disappointed but still working to bring out the Kingpin we once knew. Buck showed more personality and there was even a scene of Daniel threatening BB over her reporting on the Mayor that is sure to expand their roles. This series keeps hitting on all cylinders.
