A Walk-In to Remember
Maddie’s mother is excited to have her daughter back, completely unaware that it is actually Janet in Maddie’s body. Simon, Nicole, Claire and Xavier are forced into a “Senior Togetherness Day” event that prevents them from going to see this version of Maddie. And Wally and Charlie both use their death objects to open the red world where Mr. Martin keeps disappearing.

Janet as Maddie
Maddie/Janet and Sandra are bonding as Janet continues getting accustomed to the corporeal world. Maddie/Janet says she would like to not tell anyone she’s back while she also learns more about the modern day clothing. Realizing she doesn’t have enough food for two people, Sandra heads out grocery shopping. She invites Maddie/Janet to go too, but the spirit inhabiting her daughter’s body doesn’t want to be noticed by anyone.

While at the store, Xavier’s father, Sheriff Baxter sees her and strikes a conversation. Sandra admits that Maddie is back and invites the Sheriff over to take a statement. However, when he’s there Janet/Maddie is less than cooperative. Sheriff Baxter informs Xavier that Maddie is back and that starts a process of Xavier and Nicole trying to get out of the Senior Togetherness Day since they know that’s not Maddie.
Senior Togetherness Day
At school, Simon and Xavier come clean to Maddie that they lost Janet again. Meanwhile, the school is hosting a Senior Togetherness Day. Simon, Xavier, Nicole and Claire are looking for ways to go hunt for Janet again, but the principal corners them and takes their phones. He also threatens Simon with suspension. With no choice, the four friends head to their respective Senior Togetherness Day activities.

Claire and Nicole bond over many things they have in common that they didn’t realize. This causes Claire’s former cheerleader friend to react with jealousy. Eventually, during sharing time, this former friend reveals that Claire had previously used Maddie and then used her. Claire storms off in anger, but also pain because she knows this cheerleader is right, at least about how she used Maddie.
Simon finds a distraught Claire and listens as she explains her past with Maddie and her regrets. Claire still doesn’t believe that Janet is in Maddie’s body. However, Maddie has been listening to Claire the entire time and tells Simon something that only Maddie and Claire would know. This lets Claire know that Maddie’s spirit is really in the school.
This is around the time that Xavier and Nicole try to sneak off campus. Xavier reasons they should leave Simon out of it because he can talk to Maddie and they can’t risk him being suspended. Eventually, the four come across each other and the Principal threatens to suspend them as he believes them to be leaving early. Nicole drops the knowledge that Maddie is back which throws everyone for a loop and the Principal allows them all to leave. The four head to Maddie’s house where they see Janet in her window before she closes the curtains.
Another Possession?
In the spiritual world, Rhonda reveals what happened to her when going into the “red” world in the previous episode. Maddie wants answers but Rhonda doesn’t want to return and Charlie has no interest in going. Wally goes to the football field where he struggles with the events of his death and can’t find Mr. Martin. He gets thrown out and Maddie advises him not to try again.
Rhonda has figured out that Maddie was in a vulnerable place when she was able to hear Mr. Martin and Janet leading to her possession. Nothing the emotions connected to the Senior Togetherness Day, Rhonda figures this will be the perfect opportunity for Mr. Martin to escape their world.

Charlie, after some hesitation, plus some encouragement from Yuri, confronts his past. He ends up in the cafeteria with a vending machine full of peanuts and starts choking. Charlie sees Mr. Martin walking through his past but he’s unable to get free to grab him. Meanwhile, the lights start flickering. Maddie says the spirits told her this is what happens when someone dies on campus. But there’s no body, no ambulances, nothing that suggests a death. The spirits realize Mr. Martin must’ve jumped into a body, but the question now is whose?
Rating
This series keeps delivering in episode after episode. Janet just burned down a house, so the other four have every reason to fear for Maddie’s mother. Maddie still wants to get free, but there’s no clear way to do that. Many of these spirits who have struggled to move on are looking for ways to gather themselves after learning their mentor was betraying them. And now that very same mentor is out in the real world and we don’t know who it is yet. Personally, I wonder if it’s Claire’s cheerleader friend. Her actions were those of someone distraught and hurt which would make her vulnerable and easy to possess.
